The event will showcase a vast array of traditional craftsmanship, featuring live demonstrations and beautiful handcrafted pieces from some of our country’s most talented craftsmen. We will also be offering numerous fun and educational activities for both adults & children to take part in!
There will be locally produced food & drink on hand to ensure you don’t go hungry or thirsty, as well as live music from local folk musicians!
The Wonder of Wood Fair is a collaborative effort between Artisan Structures, Burwash Manor and WonderWood & Foxcotte. Born out of our collective love for craftsmanship and the outdoors, we wanted to create an event that is enjoyable, educational and involved.

Free for under 16s.
Dogs welcome!

How it all started
Artisan Structures and Wonderwood Willow have been working together since 2011. They originally supplied us with willow to weave into our outdoor classroom walls, from their beautiful coppice in Grantchester, Cambridge. Since then, we have worked together on many projects, often collaborating through the design process.
For years, both Wonderwood and Artisan Structures have been attending local craft fairs, magical events with local creatives showing their skills and selling their products. Always accompanied by great music, food, drink and big personalities! In 2018 we decided we should create our own annual event!
Cambridge didn’t have a wood fair, yet it is a city full of people who love creative interaction and getting involved in outdoor, interesting events. The excitement in the room at our first meeting was indescribable!
Every event has been a success with thousands passing through and fills us with great ideas for the following year. It is always held on the 2nd weekend of September for 2 days every year, in Burwash Manor, owned by Tim Radford and Becky Saunders family, the co-founders of the event and owners of Wonderwood Willow.
If you like incredible creative, locally made crafts and gifts, good food, good music and giving children a chance to engage with nature and gain practical skills away from screens…. you will not be disappointed!!
