The brief was to build a structure in a private garden in the Centre of Cambridge that incorporates both imaginative and adventurous play, allowing children to create their own stories in the cottage and build their upper body strength on the swing bars and monkey bars.
The Result
Our aim with this project was to create something that flowed with an already beautiful garden and maximised the space it was built in. We are incredibly proud with how this project has turned out, and feel it fits the garden perfectly, nestled under a large Eucalyptus tree surrounded by vivid foliage.
The structure consists of oak, sweet chestnut and cob. It features sweet chestnut monkey bars and swing bars, oak furniture and shelving inside the cottage, a cob wall with colourful glass bottles for added light, a small fairy doorway, and handcrafted branchy windows with refurbished iron hinges.
