The Cambridge Treehouse
Treehouse, Cambridge
The Brief
This project involved the design and construction of a bespoke treehouse built around a cedar tree in a private Cambridge garden. Planning permission was required, with careful consideration given to protecting the tree and its root system while allowing for natural growth over time.
The aim was to create a functional yet playful structure that felt immersed in its surroundings.
The Design
The design process was highly collaborative, with ideas evolving throughout the build. While detailed drawings formed the foundation, discussions around furniture, planters and landscaping helped shape a space full of character and personality.
Respect for the tree remained central to every design decision.
The Result
The completed treehouse includes insulated walls, integrated lighting, power sockets and a range of bespoke furniture. The result is a warm, practical and imaginative space that feels both carefully engineered and naturally inspired.
A rewarding project from start to finish, delivering a truly unique garden structure.
