To replace a long-standing treehouse with a new design that honours the original while enhancing the natural setting. To create a space for the family to use for reading, yoga and relaxation.
The Result
The new treehouse is built directly within the sculptural limbs of a pollarded* tree, this bespoke structure is both supported by and nestled into the tree itself.
We worked closely with the local council’s tree officer to ensure they were happy with our proposed design. Foxcotte Tree Surgery carried out the careful pruning of specific branches, allowing us to integrate the structure seamlessly.
The result is a tranquil, elevated space for the family to enjoy.
*Pollarding is an ancient pruning technique that encourages dense, controlled regrowth and gives the tree its distinctive character, with strong, knotted limbs that create natural anchor points for the new treehouse.
