The Fields Children's Centre
Play Area, Cambridge
The Brief
The wonderful Fields Childrens Centre approached us with an extremely tight deadline to get a disused playground area back to an exciting state in time for opening. We knew it would be tough, but it was a great cause and we were keen to help.
The Design
We started planning and designing straight away. With thoughtful layout, and careful phasing of the works, we made a plan which allowed all the top priorities to be ticked off now, and a more exciting structure to be added next year.

The Result
Phase one included a full sized rebound therapy tampoline, 2 swings, a third nest swing, and a group of simple balancing elements. Brightly coloured soft pour saftey surface made the whole area aceessible for wheel chairs, with clear routes avoiding all fall zones. Feedback from the teachers and children was great and we look forward to coming back to add the main structure.
