Oak & Larch Play Structure
The Oak & Larch Play Structure was built to maximise the use of space in a small central Cambridge garden. This was an incredibly fun project to work on, one that allowed us to be really creative in making a structure that was truly bespoke to and conscious of its surroundings.
Given the size of the project site, we had to be extremely accurate in our design work, so alongside our stylized concept sketches, we implemented 3D CAD technology to create a perfectly scaled model 0f the structure. Despite the small footprint, we feel that we've created a play area that provides an excellent source of physical and imaginative play.
The Oak & Larch Play Structure is comprised of seasoned oak, larch and sweet chestnut. It features a decked area which has been delicately scribed around the magnificent pre-existing tree, and clad with beautiful wayney planks. As well as the decked area, there is a traditionally built raised structure clad with wayney planks and a cedar shingle roof. Attached to the structure are a miniature climbing wall, slide and rope bridge that connects it to the rest of the play area.
