Woodland Retreat

The Brief
We felt so lucky to be asked to build a structure, with the license to be creative, while being blessed with a beautiful selection of Sweet Chestnut logs and branches to choose from during the build.
The Result
This structure sits so beautifully in its surroundings. With trees all around it and a view over a large pond.
The front two panels are removable, as it will be used as a performance stage as well as a social space. The joists and rafters are all locally sourced and locally milled Douglass Fir and everything else is Sweet chestnut. With a cedar shingle roof.
