To build an outdoor classroom and compost toilet for children and adults to enjoy their surroundings while learning forest skills and crafts.
The Result
This forest classroom has a 6m x 6m floor space, so plenty of room to spread the tables, benches and shave horses! The ramp was built for wheel chair access and adds great character to the entrance. The compost toilet is located not too far from the outdoor classroom, so all are able to stay in the woodland whilst working.
The roof and cladding were built with larch from Rougham Estate and the sweet chestnut used to create the structure is from a coppice on the Cambridgeshire / Essex border.
We are so proud of what we produced, it was a great collaborative project with the client.
